The Crop House is 5 minutes from the town of Newaygo, on a private, wooded lot. The house is on a hill that overlooks Hess Lake. Public lake access is available down the street to the west but we do not have direct access. A convenience store is a couple houses east of our driveway and you can walk there. In the summer, they have an ice cream shop. Several wineries are located within driving distance.
We are located just off E. 88th Street. Our little (Oakwood) street is not on many maps so we ask that you map out our driveway address, 1526 E. 88th Street, Newaygo, Michigan. The Crop House sign is at the street and once you turn into the driveway you will go left at the end of the trees. Another Crop House sign is there. Feel free to park in the right two stalls of the garage or in the driveway. There is plenty of parking. A lock box is located on the right side of the garage which provides a garage door opener for your use during your stay with us. A sheltered crafter’s access ramp will be found inside the garage for your convenience. The designated organizer / group coordinator of your event will be provided with the access code.
Hess Lake / Newaygo is just about 35 miles / 45 minutes north of Grand Rapids, MI, 35 miles / 45 minutes of Muskegon, 123 miles / 2 hours south of Traverse City, 100 miles / 1 hr 40 minutes northwest of Lansing and roughly 195 miles / 3 hours northwest of Detroit.
From Grand Rapids:
Take US-131 north to I-96 west (toward Muskegon).
Stay left (about 1/3 of a mile) and exit I-96 west to M-37 / Alpine Avenue north.
Stay on M-37 thru Sparta and Kent City to Casnovia.
At the traffic circle, take the first exit north and continue on M-37 north to 88th Street.
Take 88th Street East, or right, about 2 miles to 1526 E. 88th Street. Turn right into the driveway. At the end of the tree line, turn left and follow the signs to The Crop House.
From Muskegon:
Take M-46 / Apple Avenue east to Casnovia
At the traffic circle, continue around and take the third exit north and continue on M-37 north to 88th Street.
Take 88th Street East, or right, about 2 miles to 1526 E. 88th Street. Turn right into the driveway. At the end of the tree line, turn left and follow the signs to The Crop House.
From Traverse City:
Take Garfield Rd south to Voice Rd east to Clark Rd south to Kingsley.
Take M-113 west then south to US-131.
Take US-131 south thru Cadillac, Reed City and Big Rapids to Howard City.
Take M-82 / 82nd Street west to Vista Drive south to 88th Street.
Take 88th Street West, or right, to 1526 E. 88th Street. Turn left into the driveway. At the end of the tree line, turn left and follow the signs to The Crop House.
From Detroit:
Take I-696 west to I-96 west thru Lansing to Grand Rapids.
Stay on I-96 west past US-131 to M-37 / Alpine Avenue north.
